OUR CLASSES
Below is a guide of what our classes entail.
RAD CLASSICAL BALLET
Does your child LOVE dancing around and being a princess? If yes, then ballet is the perfect class for you .Ballet is a technical and strict dance style, however dancers learn how to dance with beauty and grace. It is excellent for improving agility, coordination, flexibility, grace and strength and posture. These exercises consist of repetitive moves in a variety of set positions. Most students are given the opportunity to complete a ballet exam, however this is not compulsory to move up a grade each year with their friends.
CONTEMPORARY
Contemporary is an artistic and expressive combination of ballet techniques, floor work, agility and free ranging movement. We work on floor rolls, explore intricate choreography and explore different variations of jumps connecting to the floor. Students will learn how to express emotions through choreography and music.
ADA JAZZ / OPEN JAZZ
​Jazz is a fun, high energy combination of dance styles that come from the musical theatre arts. Jazz is often used in musical theatre, commercials and music video clips. Jazz takes technique from Classical Ballet and uses isolation and strength to emphasise the movement. Most students are given the opportunity to complete a jazz exam, however this is not compulsory to move up a grade each year with their friends.
HIP HOP
Hip Hop choreography makes use of many components and techniques of dance found in Urban Dance. These include popping, locking, breaking and isolation exercises, teaching dancers how to move different parts of their body separately. If you are after a fun, energetic, low fuss class... hip hop is the class for you.
ADA TAP / OPEN TAP
Tap is a style of dance distinguished by percussive footwork that marks out precise rhythmic patterns on the floor. We explore exciting rhythmical exercises and have so much fun! Most students are given the opportunity to complete a tap exam, however this is not compulsory to move up a grade each year with their friends.
ACROBATICS
Our acro program is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in five divisions of AcroDance: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling. Developed with input from professionals and experts in ballet, modern dance, jazz, contortion, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, sport acrobatics, yoga, acro yoga, pilates, physiotherapy, hand balancing and more, you will not find a more comprehensive program. Simple thoughtful progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and somersaults to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage!
DANCE CONDITIONING (FLEX)
Dance Conditioning / Flex is a class made up of fitness, stretch & strengthening. This class is highly recommended to all dancers. This fantastic class is essential for any dancer to discover their flexibility & learn how to use their core stability. Students will also learn foundations to improve their kicks, turns and leaps.
